Note: Feel free to use the exercises below with a rope, staff or stick. Also, simply performing them as natural yoga asanas is just as excellent.
Anatomical Region: Lower Abdomen
Purpose: Creativity, Sexuality, Passion
Helps eliminate or reduce anger, fatigue and egoism
• Mountain • Ninja Pose and Variations • Side Plank • Low Lunge with Twist • Warrior III • Pyramid Pose • Half Moon Pose •
Sit comfortably with your spine straight. Hands relaxed on your knees, palms facing up or down. Stare 20 seconds at the chakra image below, memorizing it. Softly close your eyes and begin to visualize the chakra illuminating your lower abdomen. Steady your breath. When ready, start to chant vocally, or silently to yourself, the mantra "VAM", while simultaneously tapping gently with the tips of your fingers the front and back of your lower abdomen (region between kidneys). Maintain this rhythm for 2 minutes up to 5 minutes. Use this technique as a warm up prior to the flow demonstrated below. Optional meditation music here
